I’ve just recently completed my first plan with Ian a Half Marathon Run & from start to finish I have received endless encouragement from Ian. His weekly plan was achievable for any novice like myself. The weekly coached sessions always left me feeling encouraged and inspired amongst a great running group. Also Ian’s knowledge of Physical Therapy has allowed me to complete this programme injury free. I would definitely recommend Ian for any running plan.

I wholeheartedly can recommend Ian Purcell as a trainer. His methods have certainly worked for me. What do I mean by ‘worked’? When I first met Ian in 2017 I had been running for about 15 years. I use the term loosely. I ran slower than a turtle through glue. I had completed a 10k where I ran out of steam and had to stop and walk most of 2nd 5k. I was injured with Plantar Fasciatus and spasms in my back which just got worse with my running. I came to Ian disillusioned and frustrated and ready to quit running. I started with Ian with physical therapy to sort these issues and then joined a running plan. The first thing Ian asked us to do was ‘slow down’ Say What? Long story short by following The Plan religiously I completed my first Dublin Marathon in October 2017 and what’s more I was fresher after that than my miserable 10k in June. Am I fast? No. Ian can’t work miracles but I am faster than I was and more importantly I can now finish strong with a smile on my face. Negative splits, picking up the pace in the 2nd half of races and having fun. Which at the end of the day is what it’s all about for me. I will never trouble anyone on the podium but Ian has given me back the joy in running, I’m not destroyed and I now feel anything is possible. I have since done 3 Dublin marathons faster each year than the last, numerous half marathons with Personal bests, I joined the Triathlon club and in 2021 completed my first half Ironman distance at Metalman Tramore. Finishing strong and enjoying every minute of it. Team IP is fun. You’ll never regret it.

I joined teamip after many years of training solo. I have to say I was dubious but I went in with an open mind. I was blown away by how friendly everyone was, there were no egos here, we all started together and finished together, everyone was so supportive. This was a huge game changer for me, the plan was intense but so enjoyable it had a bit of everything from tempos to Fartlek, trails to flat. Maf is a huge part of the training and if you listen and follow the plan you will come on leaps And bounds. I have never had such support in all my running years, Ian is literally at the end of the phone 24/7 to answer any questions you have. I started running with Team IP back in 2019 when I decided to take on a bucket list challenge of a full marathon. I always considered myself a runner, but now I can honesty say I was never running right and could not figure out how or why I was constantly injured. Two years later I am still on plans with Ian I have never been without one and cannot see myself ever been off plan and most importantly Injury free. I ran the marathon with great comfort after the months previous of great training and encouragement from Ian. If I had not had the structure of Ian’s training and plan it would have been a very different marathon day for me. The plans Ian sets out for his clients are amazing, the time he gives to everyone is what makes it quite personal and the people in the group are extremely supportive to each other. There are many benefits from being a member of Team IP, fitness, goal setting, friendships, or just simply getting out, whether you want to run your first marathon, half marathon, 10 mile, 10k, 5k whatever it might be, there is something in it for everyone and nobody is ever made feel inadequate. I joined Team IP in June 2019 and I can honestly say it's the best thing I have ever done. Prior to joining Ian's group I was extremely frustrated with my form and I found the harder I tried the worse I was getting. Ian's plan takes patience and hard work but the results I have seen from sticking rigidly to Ian's training programme based around Maf heart rate were absolutely incredible. I went from a plus 2hr half marathoner when I started with Ian to running a 1hr 28.40 earlier this year. Absolutely amazing. I was hitting times I never thought possible. I hung up my running shoes in august 2018, after a disastrous half marathon which took me 3&1/2 hours, fast forward 3 months and a friend persuaded me to sign up for a marathon!!! I knew come January 2019 I needed to get the running gear back on but I also needed to do this properly and with guidance ( I won’t lie I used to just run!!!). Having been with Ian for some massage therapy he informed me he was training people using MAF training methods and a structured plan!!! I won’t lie, I knew this was going to be a massive undertaking big I also knew it would be worth it, plus Ian had me believing I could do it. The training initially was frustrating in fact I was walking a lot !!! Training my heart and body to work more efficiently took a lot of practice. However anyone that can get me across the finish line of a marathon is in fact a miracle worker, yes I am one of those slow proud runners and yes I’ve since ran a second marathon and lost count of how many half marathons …but now I run with a much better heart rate, did I run to win, hell no just to prove I could, since training with Ian I’ve found a new love for running dare I say it but I actually enjoy it, the group at team IP are an amazing supportive crew..and now a week without running would be a nightmare,and to top it I got my best half marathon this year in 2 hours 47 ! Would I recommend Ian & his training plan….100% it’s great value for money, detailed weekly plans and a great “team” on board who are always there to help…. No one runs alone …

Hi, I started running at an age when most people are probably considering taking it easy, after a year or two running on my own I happened to met Ian, (TEAM IP), a running buddy recommended him to me as I was struggling with an injury, I decided to join his running group as I was planning on doing the New York marathon(2019), the 18 week training block was well structured and with the support and guidance of Ian I approached the race with confidence, I've remained with Team IP since, with the chaos of covid Ian put together some challenges which I'm sure every Team IP member will agree kept us focused,for anyone considering taking up running or anyone trying to get that PB, I would recommend Team IP

I first started with Ian and Team IP back in January 2019 but due to a persistent hamstring injury, I had to wait almost a year and a half to properly get stuck into one of Ian’s running plans. During the rehab process, Ian’s physio sessions and guidance on stretching were invaluable. In October 2020 I finally signed up for a 10k plan and since then I’ve progressed up through the 10 mile plan, half marathon plan and most recently, the coached marathon plan. My understanding and knowledge of running and fitness in general has improved ten-fold and the week to week plans are exceptionally detailed and easy-to-follow.
